Sapphire
Sapphire is a variety of corundum and its name comes from the Latin, “sapphirus.” Its chemical composition is a combination of aluminum oxide, iron and titanium, which gave the characteristic blue color. Ancient Persians believed the earth rested on a giant sapphire that gives the reflection color of the sky. This stone represents truth, sincerity, trust and healing powers associated with the eye.
